Sensory exploration in a guided audiovisual space (part 2)
Building on the amazing experience we had in the borderlands of 2018, BODYLAND IS COMING BACK FOR MORE :)

Bodyland is a somatic exploration space for everyone that loves to dance and play and move and touch.
Centred around the practice of Contact Improvisation, we create a space for emotional and physical exploration and embodied awareness through contact improvisation and free movement.
Our camp is focused on living and practising contact improvisation, a specific but open discipline based on touch and the physicality of dance.
We offer morning practices as well as workshops and labs throughout the day, contact improvisation jams and open space for movement research.
Evenings will vary between improvisation-based events like jams or open improvisatory spaces and electronic music in an inspiring audiovisual setting.
The main space of the camp will have a floor suited for dance and body-work, a modest sound-system and a roof to keep everyone warm and dry and cozy :)
In addition to classes, labs, DJ sets and mini-concerts offered by the inhabitants of bodyland, we are happy to offer the space and the stage to other borderliners to teach a class or play a set if nothing else is happening :)

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? 2-3KW

    • Will there be light? Yes! With projectors and video mapping.

    • Will anything BURN? Burn? sure..wait, what?! no...

    • What is your audio footprint? We have a modest audio footprint and we always make sure to stay within the specified limits. We will be playing quiet music periodically throughout the day for the workshops and events and DJ sets on a very modest soundsystem in the evenings.
