  • Summary

Traveling across space and time, we will make temples from the land art in the lands of Ascension, Bivrost and The Village, and bring their stories and spirits to the Borderland for a grand culmination!

    Full description of yer concept

We want to make a co-created story in five chapters, spanning the time and space between the events around the Borderland in the Nordic countries. Each chapter will build on the one before, adding to it, creating an intimate connection between imagination and reality, allowing participants to connect between the events through threads of narrative. We will do this by co-creating land art installations at each event, and installing an interactive artwork monolith that can move between the events, capturing stories and spirits, and transporting them on to other events. At the Borderland, this will be integrated into a temple there.

A central theme for these will be heritage, lineage and the connection we have with the lands we have inherited from our forebears, expressed through the symbols and tales that were handed down to us.

Further, the express purpose of this project is to drive a discussion in the Borderland about the Leave No Trace principle of the Burning Man ethos. While this principle works well in the desert, it does not accurately represent the environmental reality of our impact. We want to revise this and to take a stronger stance on environmental issues.

We seek funding for transport of the temple pieces, an interactive light and sound installation, and a centerpiece that holds in it the spirit of the Borderlands. These will tour Sweden and Norway, making stops at Bivrost, The Village, culminating at the Borderland, and then finding its final resting place at Afterglow.

How can other Borderlings co-create with you?

We are actively seeking many co-creators to help build this.
    We need:
-Dreamers who are building land art at Bivrost and The Village who want to co-create an enhanced experience in their art to turn it into a temple experience.
-Techno-wizards skilled with lights and electronics.
-Designers to draw and cut the temple with CNC magic.
    -logistics support between the events.

-you! We need you as a Templar! Let's build this thing together as a prototype for a pan-nordic dream project! The outlines of this project is absolutely flexible and is meant to flow into the visioning processes of the Borderland! Let us know if you want in!
