The Magic Porridge

  • Summary

Magic porridge on wheels, served to you at random morning times and at random places by small hands.

    Full description of yer concept

Raise and shine in the morning and fill your belly with the magic porridge.

The magic porridge tastes like dreams and reality, like comfort food and craving for adventures, like sweet and delicious and mama’s food.

Never too sweet, never too flat, the magic porridge will re-energize you (or knock you out) after a night out at the Borderland. No matter what, you will most probably lick that bowl until there is nothing left.

Completely vegan, served in a nut-rich or nut-free version, gluten-rich or gluten-free version. The magic porridge contains all what you need to survive for another day at the Borderland (almost).

Made overnight by the loving hands of Kidsville’s mamas, the magic porridge will be carried around in a colorful wagon in a sacred morning procession. Its arrival will be announced by the sound of tinkling bells and young fresh voices (do not worry, you will not miss it). This morning deliciousness will be served fresh to you by the happy hands of small Kidsvillers.

This dream is testing your radical self-reliance. Have your bowl and spoon ready.

The basic grant to this project goes to buy a little wood wagon to be used to carry around the magic porridge (...Nah, that we have realized we already have! :D ). The extra grants will be spent to buy good quality decoration materials that the kids themselves can use to decorate the wagon. We will prefer to use a base of colorful adhesive paper to be cut in different shapes and stick to the wagon in the manner of Yayoi Kusama’s dotted room (instead of paint, that, in the hand of the kids might do leave a trace). Extra decorations will be made out of reused materials as much as possible.

    About the crew / artist

Not a sparkling unicorn, really, but, honestly, an old, boring and grumpy Kidsville mama, supported by other Kidsville’s mamas and papas and their offspring. Our motto: “let’s get the little loud ones out of the village in the morning and give a couple of hours of peace to the parents”.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

So delicious it is, there will not be any porridge left. And anyway, the morning procession will proceed until there is no porridge left. So our goal is: no porridge left.
We would make sure that no porridge is spilled while it is distributed and we will clean in case of accidents. And we do know that the organic/food waste must be disposed separately, yes.

    What is this?

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? No. We will exploit child labour to carry around at the Borderland the magic porridge wagon.

    • Will there be light? Yes, a lot of light at the end of the night. The sunrise in its splendor.

    • Will anything BURN? No. This magic porridge does not even need to be cooked. It's just magic.

    • What is your audio footprint? Tinkling bells and children’s voices.
