  • Summary

Chi Room is a multidimensional space that will house a contemporary stone garden, improvised herbal tea ceremonies, audio-visual vr sessions and pervasive game performances. This dream is apart of the Butterfly Effect Camp.

    Full description of yer concept

Chi Room is a multidimensional space. Simple fabric walls are closing off the surroundings while leaving the ceiling open for sky gazing. Sitting mats on elevated platforms will give space for up to 10 people to sit or lay down. The mats are placed around a central arrangement made of soil, moss, large flint stones and various alien artifacts. This arrangement makes up a mind expanding macro-landscape to dive into and contemplate, while in the meantime a series of improvised herbal tea ceremonies, audio-visual vr sessions and pervasive game performances are being conducted. The programme with opening hours will be created so that borderlings can sign up for experiences or just jump in while pass by. The Chi Room is open for new activities to be proposed by the fellow borderlings.

The moss for the installation will be carefully collected in the area, cared for during the festival and reintroduced back afterwards.

    About the crew / artist

Georg - is an installation artist that has recently began working with living moss and flint stones. Partly inspired by the japanese tradition of stone gardens he is using local materials and spicing them up with sci-fi and mystic flavours.
Alina - will be explore various ways of infusing and serving herbal tea to heal you body and your soul.
Anne - will connect the Chi Room to the rest of Borderland through pervasive gaming and performative interactions. It all starts when you see that 27th star, eventually it will lead you all to the Chi Room.
Sasa - will experiment with taking you through to another dimension in this space through sound, sensation and virtual reality.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

Materials for tent construction will be taken away after the festival. The only trash I can think of is herbs after the use in the tea ceremonies. They can eather be left as a compost or collected and taken away.

Description Min amount (DKK) Max amount (DKK)
    Rechargeable led lights 1200
Materials for pervasive gaming interactions and decorations 1500
    roller-blind for walls 1500
wood and screws for the frame 600
    plastic pallets+ sitting mats 1600
How can other Borderlings co-create with you?

Pervasive gaming and performative interactions will be conducted- turning everyone into a co-creator. The Chi Room is open for new activities to be proposed by the fellow borderlings.

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

    • Will there be light? A few suspended rechargeable led lamps/low light

    • Will anything BURN? We might use a gas burner outside for the tea ceremonies if the weather condition will permit.

    • What is your audio footprint? There will be a low meditative sound from a small bluetooth speaker during the tea ceremonies. During the VR audio sessions there will be louder bass sounds/vibrations for shorter periods of time.
