imagine going through the forest in the evening and an orb is glowing. Like a ufo has landed. the strange object has seemingly been there for years. This is a compact land art object which uses solar power to glow off the grid.
This project is an exploration into "strange objects in public spaces". It is intended to be hidden from the usual path. It should be found by the few and spark curiosity. It will glow and light up and look like a little ufo that has landed many years ago in the forest. The object will react to it surroundings through light and sound.
It is intended as a permanent installation that challenges the concept of land art as naturally degradable materials like wood. Instead, it is an attempt to contrast the natural forest with serendipity.
It will be made of aluminium or metal and translucent materials like acrylic. It will have solar panels and a powerbank so it can work in remote off-grid locations in the forest.
I hope to make more than one.
The Illutron studio was formed in 2007 by a group of people with a wide range of backgrounds: artists, performers, programmers, electricians, musicians and electronics wizards. The group started with two primary values: to create a community around creative, artistic usage of technology, and to build an open platform where people could explore driven by their own curiosity. You did not have to justify yourself and your work; it was inherent in the culture that somehow, someday your little experiment would find a greater role in an interactive art installation in a gallery or in playful contexts at festivals and events.
The object will not create any moop beyond the object itself. If allowed we would like to leave it at hedeland..

Yes - please. We need to build a interesting structure.
Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.
