The idea to create a save haven, a rock-free part of the beach, with a small light- and laserinstallation and a portal, so that the sea will become a worryfree experience day and night.

    Full description of yer concept

The beach at borderland might be remembered by some people as a very dangerous place. There are many slippery rocks in the water, and to swim while intoxicated, especially at night, can become a risky thing. That's why we have the idea to create a save passage to and at the beach, including a part of the beach which we want to prepare for a bathing-experience. We'd like to move rocks and any other obstacles, so that a part of the beach and sea is saver to use. Additionally, we'd like to create a portal, including savety-tips and some suiting lightsources. We don't want to overdo it though, so we definitly will leave nature it's room.

    About the crew / artist

We are basically 5 people ready to construct everything, but it would be great to have help with moving the rocks... the more people the faster it should be finished

How can other Borderlings co-create with you?

We would be very welcoming of any sort of help, as many rock-removers as possible, someone good with lasers or electricity, artists, and so on...

    What is this?

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? We don't know yet, but it shouldn't be more than a few dim lamps and two laserbeams, so maybe about 1500 watt max?

    • Will there be light? We want to use small lightsources to highlight the rockfree parts of the beach, and give a nice ambiance. Nothing too crazy though

    • Will anything BURN? Sadly the sea is both beautiful and dangerous. That's why we want to try to get rid of some immediate dangers, and make light of the others. Basic rules like: never swim alone, don't swim unless you are a good swimmer and so on should be highlighted
