  • Summary

Radical Self-expression and variety through underwear! The Panty Tree is a ‘put-n-take’ co-creational art installation, where you can showcase your personal style of (clean) underwear, or walk a mile in someone else’s for a brief moment.

    Full description of yer concept

Imagine an art installation focussing on the variety of people, shown through a wide variety of underwear! My hope is that someone will see the tree, find it amusing, and then take a pair and test them out. Or even hang a pair of their own underwear on The Panty Tree. The plan is to build two trees.

My dream is quite easy to actualize, even with limited funds.
The Panty Tree will be built in wood and other burnable materials. I will supply a lot of panties to hang there, to showcase a lot of different styles. The tree will be built with as many branches as possible, without the wind catching it and knocking it over. It’s quite simple really.
If I don't get funded fully, I will still try to make this happen, but it won't be as inviting or rad...

    About the crew / artist

Astrid creates all kinds of weird art and happenings to celebrate radical self-expression and inclusion. The goal is to only create co-creational art pieces and happenings.

How can other Borderlings co-create with you?

I would love help building The Panty Trees in the first couple of days (sat-tue). Any burner can walk by and hang up their own (clean) panties to showcase their style, or can grab a pair hanging there, and test them out, bring them home, but not hang them back unless they are clean.

    What is this?

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

      Details

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? None! I Light the trees with battery driven stringlights

    • Will there be light? Yes. With batterydriven stringlights

    • Will anything BURN? Biggest issue could be if the trees fall over. So the plan is to take a walk every evening to change batteries, and secure the trees. They are flamable, but wouldn't be placed close to fire.

    • What is your audio footprint? None
