  • Summary

The Rolling Bar and Nail Salon from Urban Burn is back, better than ever!

    Full description of yer concept

Get your nails painted as a rainbow flower or a glittery swirl of color or let the lights reveal glowing pulsating dots, like a mix of a firefly and a ladybug. Get the metallic nails of your dreams or a psychedelic two tone geometric pattern, fish scales or some flamingos.

A 120 cm long, 40 cm wide and 90 cm high (not including lamps) battery operated bar/nail salon on wheels. Under the hood (hidden from sight) is a wine refrigerator (runs for 3 hours on battery), some electronics to control it, a 25 liter water tank, some spare cups, a LNT container and hopefully there will also be an ice machine and juicer or mixer/blender.

The idea is that this nail salon/bar will pop up at different locations at the Borderland and offer a magical, classy and cozy bar/nail salon experience at a new place every time. The more things that can magically appear from under the curtains the better, like freshly squeezed juice, ice or a chilled champagne bottle.

    About the crew / artist

My name is Magnus Ekman and I started this project on my first burn, last years Borderland, as a stationary bar. Elaborated the concept before Urban Burn and turned it into a rolling nail salon and bar for Urban Burn.

How can other Borderlings co-create with you?

Help me get it quarry ready, instead of indoor ready. Help me get the EL wire lights working again, help me improve the bar/drinks or paint someone else nails.

    What is this?

Hey friend! Welcome to the virtual drawing board of The Borderland. This is the place where we prototype the projects we'll realise during the week in the quarry.

    Dream crew

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? 500 - 1300 W

    • Will there be light? Yes, EL wire to create "neon" sign and to light up serving tray, LED disco lights

    • Will anything BURN? Since not always connected to the power grid but still producing 230V AC currents a residual current circuit breaker is added to the setup.

    • What is your audio footprint? Small audio footprint, at most desktop speakers
