Enter a parallel universe – an escape in time and place to relax under a glowing night sky scattered with star seed. The Space Dome is a retreat from gravity, where you and a fellow space traveler can drift away and gaze into space through a telescope.
“The earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind can not stay in the cradle forever” - Tsiolkovsky
We will build a wooden/cardboard dome of about 3 meters in diameters - covered in materials open for everyone to decorate and turn into a space piece of art. Inside you will find the perfect silent place to relax, alone or with a space travel companion to admire the stars and galaxies that will surround you - and a real telescope through which you can admire the beautiful stars around Boesdal.
Once you are inside. the dome it will give you the impression that you are no longer on Earth.
The team consists of members from The Silent Circus Malmö Camp - Mickaël Mesbauer, Anna Sandahl, Fredrik Andersson and Jonas Lindskog. The material for the Dome will be prepared before entering The Borderland - but the Dome will remain the same (but open for decoration) through the whole week.
Everything will be taken care of by the creators of the Dome – no traces left!
The Dome will be open to anyone that wants to join it. The main construction pieces will be prepared before hand – but anyone can join to put the magic pieces of the puzzle together, and participate in making the outside of the walls even greater and more spacy than the inside with wild graffiti…
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
