Chalkboard Car

Minerva Löwgren & Daniel Bladini

It’s a car. It’s a chalkboard. Get your cray on, grab a crayon and radically express yourself.

Full description of concept

The Chalkboard Car will be exactly what it sounds like: a car with a chalkboard finish. Draw on it, write on it, brainstorm on it, play tic tac toe on it, use it as a tool in your workshop. This car will dual-duty as our personal living space but the chalkboard will be for everyone to occupy and enjoy.

Team and plan

We will fix it up during June and then drive it down to Boesdal.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

If it rains, what people have drawn on the chalkboad will be gone with the water. To protect the surroundings we will buy enviormentally friendly crayons to draw with, and also make sure that they do not colour the ground in the case of a downpour and/or put a cover underneath the car. The chalkboard paint itself is water- and heatproof and will not peel off. Other than this and stray crayons, we do not expect this to MOOP. Crayons will be easy for participants to put back in a container placed near the car. Since we will live in the car, this will be easy to keep track of and have the project be MOOP free.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

*Share your knowledge about large airbrushes and how to paint cars the best way possible.
*Lend us your large airbrush to use for this project!
*Help us prime the surface of the car for painting and paint the car (Stockholm)
*Draw on the car with the provided crayons, put the crayons back in their container, have fun!

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.

  • Do you need electricity from the grid? No

  • Will there be light? Yes, some smaller light sources like LED, el-wire or the likes

  • Will anything burn? No

  • Forces of nature We expect the car and the paint to withstand the forces of nature at Boesdal. If it rains the crayonscribbles will however be gone with it, see MOOP plan.
