Knitting and Crochet as a form of meditation will be offered at the Heart Glow. Knitting and Crochet are meditative and relaxing and also a very fulfilling social activity! We invite all Borderlings to knit/Crochet something that will become art!
Knitting and crochet as a form of meditation will be offered at the Heart Glow – a calm and safe space at The Borderland 2016. Yarn work is meditative and relaxing, and we invite all Borderlings to give it a try and knit or crochet a patch (big or small) or anything, really: Follow a pattern, use your imagination, crochet a colourful vagina or a simple scarf for Grandma. We will teach where required and will have needles, hooks and yarns.
From the patches we will create something for the BL or the Heart Glow, depending on how many patches we have: Patch blanket, patch pillow case, or we might yarn-bomb objects at the Heart Glow or the Playa.
Whatever we create will be back at the Borderland the following years. This is potentially an on-going project from one Borderland to another. We can keep adding patches or improve yarn-bombs year-over-year :)
Part of the Heart Glow: Everybody can drop by the Heart Glow and knit at any given time during the BL.
Every now and then Marie and Denya will wander around the playa with a Magical and Mysterious Yarn Box full of goodies, and offer Borderlings to enjoy the blissful art of knitting and Crocheting!
Part of the Heart Glow moop plan. More specifically for anything knitted: All yarn-bomb will be removed on Sunday by the dream owners (Denya and Marie).
All moop created within the knitting process will go back into the yarn box.
Yarn lovers, Crochetters and Knitters: Unite! Please join us in shaping this project and teach the basics during the BL.
We need Yarn: All Borderlings are encouraged to bring yarn donations or leftovers you no longer want or need.
We need tools: knitting needles, crochet hooks, scissors, anything you wish to donate or lend us for the BL.
Just bring any of the above (and anything else that you think could be useful) to the Borderland and drop it at the Heart Glow.
Pro-tip: You can collect yarn leftovers from anyone you know who knits. Knitters always have yarn leftovers to give away! We keep thinking we'll do something useful with them, but never get to it. This is your chance to let them do something special with it: Allow their yarn travel to the Borderland and become art for years to come.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
