“Tim’s Mobile Powwow” is an energetic, spirit spreading, dynamic ART CAR experience with ambition to enhance and encourage spontaneous PoWWoW!
BACK FROM LAST YEAR!!
The mobile PoWWoW is BACK and for those who were on it, in it, around it, you KNOW that last year a legend was born.
Now we need help to keep her alive!
Powwow is among North American Indians a ceremony, especially one accompanied by magic, feasting, and dancing, performed for the cure of disease, success in a hunt but more importantly, to galvanize fertility! “Tim City - Mobile Powwow” aspire to assist and support any shindig going down at the Borderland with revelry essentials like cold hootch, eccentric entertainment, boisterous high fidelity system and dazzling lasers.
And sometimes we’ll serve ice cream.
We have a freezer baby.
Ice, Ice, baby.
Think about it... You are outside in the sun. It's stupid hot. You have no liquid in your body because you've been a bad Bordeling and haven't saturated enough. You have come to the realization that death is the only answer to liberate you from your earthly burdens. Then suddenly. In the distance. The hypnotic sounds of your favorite Ethiopian Drum&Base rhythms. And over the hill she rises. Like the sun. The PoWWoW. With glowing Bordelings hanging of the sides she come to you bringing purpose, dreams and most importantly, ice cream.
The PoWWoW saved your life. She wants nothing in return.
THE ART CAR:
Beneath the bedazzled exterior the PoWWoW is a 1999 VW Transporter pimped with mobile bar, cooler, comfy lounge, hitch hiking possibilities, sound system and laser rig.
The art car will serve as wise guide in the night for all befuddled Broderlings when collective migration occurs. As it will travel along the non-trade route of the quarry we will welcome others to join, to visit unseen corners and camps, to connect one place with another as synergy grows and distances between camps shrink.
“Tim’s Mobile Powwow Bar” will be open for participants to help operate and also serves as a familiar constant when the universe around you is changing too quickly.
Since we carry fire extinguisher and first aid kit we also function as an on-location emergency car. Transporting injured Bordelings in the safe lounge of the PoWWoW.
Last year the PoWWoW was a hugnormous success in ways we couldn't even imagine. This year we're looking to take it to the next level.
Everyone is welcome to operate the PoWWoW but need to be allowed by a TIM CITY Camp member to ensure safe madness.
To operate the PoWWoW a crew of minimum 3 Bordelings need to be present at all times. The troop will always consist of a sober “Zelda” (Captain), a “Tim” (bar keeper), and a “Tobor the Great ” (an indispensable helper) to secure safe travels.
The vehicle will be equipped with an alcometer, checklist and guideline for operation.
Maximum speed is 5km/h.
Trash and recycling arrangement inside the art car. Everything comes and goes with our beloved PoWWoW.
The PoWWoW is for everyone.
PRIOR TO BORDERLAND:
We are excited to hear all wacky ideas on how to pimp the PoWWoW to the max. Do you have a skill, talent or just want to get your hands dirty?
- Paint jobs, how do we make her even more beautiful? Who can put their artistic footprint on this beast?
- Sounds engineering, we know enough to provoke but who knows how to start a riot?
- Laser/Light fixtures, right now she's shy, we need a luminous evolution.
- Can we use the roof in a creative way without killing everyone? Is the PoWWoW a double decker? Of course she is! How do we do that?
- What else do you dream about? Wings? Balloons reaching into space? A dragons tail? Fire breathing? Cloak of invisibility? We can create anything people!!
The projects mantra roots in radical inclusion and supporting other art pieces for greater experiences. We see “Tim’s Mobile Powwow” like that marvelous bonnet that completed your attire - more is more.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
