sansespill- an immersive theatre experience

Kine Fagerheim

Would you dare to venture on a journey you did not know where ended? Would you dare to follow our signs, under trees and over rocks, deep into the forest?

Full description of concept

If yes, than you should stop reading now. The lesser you know, the more you will be able to fully commit to and enjoy the experience.

But if you still need some convincing, then read on:

We want to create an immersive theatre experience on borderland. Here you are not just a pair of eyes that see, you are a creature that feels, legs that move, tongue that tastes and ears that hear.

Convinced jet?… :

The narrative will be based on new interpretations of forgotten, old folklore from the nordic countries. Playing on our closeness to nature and the creatures that dwells there and in the depths of our imagination.

Still not convinced?… :

We will take you on a journey deep into the borderland, over the threshold from this world into others, and reveal to you the secrets you can’t see with just the naked eye. Our vision is to steep the Bordeland-area in our narratives, to infiltrate other dreams in friendly ways, to infuse the air with our stories, and to bury treasures for you all to discover.

But for the full experience you have to be at the wrong place at the right time and always be ready to take that leap of faith when a strange creature offers you their hand. Our story is not one to be told, but one to be discovered, tasted, heard, felt and seen.

This is what we can give you. We will not and cannot reveal more. It will lessen our mission. But we promise you, this will become a journey to remember.

Team and plan

We are:

The one and only Nicolai Larasse. Philosopher of life and socially engaged architect. Who makes the world better, by questioning it.

Julia Andersson, architect, artist and a lover of life. Who always nudge us out of our comfort zone into something much better.

The eminent Berlin based actor and director; Anton Korppi-Tommola. The teaser teacher, who brings joy, tricks and smiles to the table.

The musical genius Andreas Christiansen. The one everyone talks to. Best friend by day and DJ by night.

Kine Fagerheim, scenographer and architect extraordinaire. She builds taller, dreams harder, and laughs louder than anyone in the team, perhaps even the festival itself?

The formidable costume designer Annike Flo who designs in London's realm of immersive theaters. The strongest of us all, who pushes us further than we ever thought possible.

And a supporting team of 10-15 friend, old and new. To help build, to act and react and create all the magic we need.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

We will probably reuse most of our installations. The rest will be a part of the burn. Any mess that our audience will create we will take responsibility for.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

If you want to be a part of this secret mission, if you have a secret talent in acting, kazoo-playing, drumming, singing, lifting, dansing, head standing, grimace crafting . . . .

. . . please get in touch so you can be a part of this dream.

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.

  • Do you need electricity from the grid? It's not strictly necessary. But we are playing with the thought of having a electronic music at some point. The rest will be small lights driven by battery.

  • Will there be light? Some small light installations.

  • Will anything burn? Maybe some candlelights and a small bonfire if the weather allows it.

  • What is your audio footprint? Sporadic screams and lafter. Perhaps some music form our electronic composer.

  • Forces of nature Some of us are from Bergen, the most rainy place on earth. We are ready! Our designs are weather adaptable.
