  • 14

  • Summary

Every year the borderland, all its camps, artists and volunteers work so hard to bring you a unique experience. And every year, at best, they merely break even. This year, we're gonna finally make some money out of these hippies!

    Full description of the concept

After the minimum funding is achieved, additional funds will be spent on bonus elements:

    Name badges,
    corporate ID,
multiple currencies for beer buying arbitrage.
    Extra branding.
    business cards.
    Business ties for all.
A glass ceiling for the ladies.
    Planned obsolescence
    Power point presentations
    Inspirational speakers

The corporate takeover is a participatory immersive comedy experience that takes a poke at the corporate world, capitalism and oh so trendy startup culture. And also some principles, or something.

The corporate takeover is a mandatory meeting, at the request of the borderland board. They have flown in an expensive business guru to inspire all borderlings to help camps, artists, and borderland itself make money at borderland.

Sign in at reception, get a name tag, network with your fellow business people.
Form businesses, pitch your ideas and seek investments.
Buy drinks if you can afford them. Look out for inflation and beware the tax man.

This is an immersive comedy gameshow experience that takes over a bar at the borderland. It is fully interactive - I don't want to give the game away but there is lots of audience participation. Please wear a tie, or full suit

    About the group/Artist

Nadaav has been putting on satirical comedic performance art with a punch since 2015. At his first borderland he brought The Sinners' Sermon, an immersive theatrical satirical comedy on morality, power, sexuality and authority. And lots of silly underwear. Since then he has written and performed shows at Nest, Nowhere, Burning Man and many other burns as well as theatres and venues in London.

How can other burners co-create with you?

The event is participatory and there are loads of opportunities to participate during the event. Other burners are welcome to help in advance - we have to produce some materials for the event (fake money, branding and so on), someone can help manage the music and audio of the event, and there is space for additional performers in the show.

This is a performance art piece and costumes are a part of that. The main costumes required is a large selection of ties for the audience to wear in the show. Intoxicants: This is a takeover of a bar. The essence of the game is the "sale" of alcohol for fake money at ever changing prices due to economic instability. I would want to provide some alcohol (a few bottles of spirits) to the bar of the venue that facilitates the show. If this is not permitted within the funding I will fund some other way.
