A hovering black cloud. Its' eternal rain accumulates in a heated swimming pool where we combine our wicked rain dances with refreshing baths. Tears mix with sea water in stroboscope light. Black cotton candy is handed out by dirty punk rock angels.
The Black Cloud installation consists of a big black cloud above a temporary built swimmingpool. We use two drench pumps (one in the sea, one in the pool) to keep a constant flow of fresh sea water in the pool. An oil barrel with fire placed in the swimmingpool make the water heated. Just by the swimmingpool is a small stage with a sound system, DJ’s, performances and the possibility for anyone to pass the mic. We will have some basic lights to lit the structure plus some stroboscopes to create the feeling of thunder and lighting. We will have a professional cotton candy machine and serve black cotton candy.
This will be a part of the Celestial Grinder's camp but we are three camp members mainly focusing on the Black cloud-project. We are planning to build a trial version of the pool before going to Borderland to be sure the construction works as planed. The stage and pimping of the hole installation will be made when in Boesdal. OBS. The pimping is, of, course, an on going process.
Of course, everything we bring to Boesdal will be brought back. The installation will not generate any moop, more than the paper roll that is left when you have eaten the cotton candy. We will have bins with signs where to put that.
Everyone that wants to help out, building, developing and take this thunder orgasm even further is more then welcome to join. Right now we need someone taking a lead on the lighting part. No thunder without lighting.
We we try out the pool in the Gothenburg archipelago people are more the welcome to help build and of course, test-swim.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
