    Wednesday evening at 8 pm we invite everyone and all of you to the Great Borderland Banquet, a humongous pot-luck dinner with 2500 participants along the vast reach of the longest long table the north has ever seen... Come eat and be jolly!

    Full description of the concept

    [epic trailer music and deep American trailer voice] From the team that has brought you the tallest structure of the Borderland two years in a row, this year we bring you - The longest structure! (And we're not talking about My Dick) 8 pm on the Borderland Wednesday we invite you to bring your friends, your family and your food to join us for the greatest pot luck dinner at the longest long table that Boesdal, Denmark, indeed the World, has ever seen.

    A warm sun is setting over 2500 participants, seated along one long table stretching from the entrance of the pyramid, along the main street with it's camps and giant vaginas, past Sanctuary, Shadowbunnies and that giant heavy fire-breathing tree, all the way down in the depths of The Heart. Several people doing speeches at different locations along the great dinner, dogs running around spilling bowls of soup, several parties engaged in singing of differing pieces, not always in tune nor melodic but always in a joyful frolic, frivolous feet playing footsie with other feet, the owners of which not always sure to whom these enticing limbs belong, endless wine in giant amphoras being passed around, sometimes spilling and staining the almost endlessly long table cloth with deep red memories of this effervescent moment, lit candles in gleaming chandeliers a bright contrast against the deep blue of the looming dusk.

    OK - so we did the maths on this one and to seat us all we'd need a table of around half a kilometer. We will try to build an as long table as possible but we think well manage maybe 100-200 meters depending on how many hands help out. For the rest of the long table we need you to bring your camp tables and add to the end. We will have a table cloth of half a kilometer to cover it all.

    It's a pot-luck dinner, so bring your own food, cutlery, plates, drinkery etc and share with others.

    Budget overview (full funding):
    Tables 60x3.6m = 18000 (rigid enough for a couple of people to dance on)
    Benches = 5000
    Table cloth 500m = 5000
    Decoration = 2000

    (minimum funding):
    Tables 30X3.6 = 7000 (not rigid enough for anyone to dance on)
    Benches = 1500
    Table cloth 200m = 3500

    About the group/Artist

    (something something) Grinders (the name isn't really worked out yet, Max is on to that), i.e. Jakob, Nicke, Hanakin and associates.

    How can other burners co-create with you?

    Everyone is invited to the dinner, this invitation is almost compulsory. Like, don't miss this it'll be legendary. Bring your own food, plate, cutlery, drinkery etc - and share with others!

    Everyone that is interested is invited to help us build during the days leading up to the event, or to just add a table to extend the length of the long table. If you wanna help just look for the people building a lot of tables, we'll be visible.

      Details

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? Not during the dinner, but a little bit during building to run a couple three miter saws.

    • Will there be light? With candles, a literal shit-ton of candles!

    • Safety implications If everyone start dancing on the table it will collapse. So don't do that.

    • What is your audio footprint? Nothing but joyful chattering and maybe a few dozen acoustic guitars playing renditions of Wonderwall in differing degrees of accuracy.
