    Full description of the concept

Welcome to Tea by the Sea! This year's theme is "Magic Theatre"!

"Anarchist Evening at the Magic Theatre, For Madmen Only, Price of Admission Your Mind"
    Hermann Hesse's Novel "Steppenwolf"

Tea by the Sea is a Dream-Project as well as a Camp for Borderland 2018. Both virgins and veteran Borderlings are most welcome to co-create with us. In 2017 we were about 15 in the family and this year we will grow slightly, but still stay intimate, with around 25 "Teasers"
Main forum for discussions and inspiration are here:

The dream is to set up a big café-tent up on the ridge with an amazing view, soft pillows, and a warm wood stove. During the day-times (between 3 and 6) we will serve carefully selected teas from different parts of the world. People can come by to enjoy a Japanése sencha or matcha, a brazilian maté or a spicy indian chai-tea made with herbs and Oat Milk. Maybe play a game of GO, maybe write some diary or just sit and talk with friends and enjoy the view...

The tea-tent will be available for anyone to participate, also in the evenings! It's up to us to fill it with joy, magick and inspiration... Come and play chillout music on our soundsystem, or use it for a meditation/yoga-course or massage-class. Maybe a tea-ceremony, a drum-journey or a circle of storytelling or a discussion-circle about dreams? If you're into food-hacking you are also most welcome to participate in our fermentation lab! :-)

The Tea-tent will be open for everyone, so don't expect to sleep there. We will have a camping-area behind the tea-tent where you can setup your tent.

You can choose to commit in various level, depending on how much you want to get involved:

    1. Participant
TeaBTS Provides: Tea, meetings, conversations & a warm fire,
TeaBTS Expect you to: Spread love, hugs and be your lovely self. Feel free to arrange a workshop or come by and help us brew tea!

    2. Camper
TeaBTS provides: All of the above + Your tent on the ridge next to the tea-tent. A livingroom next door with a soundsystem for you to dream and co-create whatever you want to do. Shared cold & hot water, dishing facility and possibly a kitchen-space (no food though)
TeaBTS Expect you to: Pay a small camp-fee, Help carry water & setup kitchen & moop-sweep on sunday.

    3. Family & Meal Plan
TeaBTS provides: All of the above + brunch & dinner every day sunday-sunday (This will be a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, if you have another diet, then consider bring your own stuff as back up, as it's going to be too difficult to take all diets in consideration)
TeaBTS Expect you to: Team up with 1 more person and the two of you will bring food & cook for 20 people 2 times. 1 brunch and 1 dinner + 2 dish-shifts. You will also be expected to make Tea-by-the-Sea the dream you want it to be. Making it a truely magical place where people can meet over a cup of tea and enjoy life. You can do this by helping out in the day to day things such as boiling water, brewing & serving tea (We will make shifts), taking care of the fire, handling the event-schedule, painting signs OR by bringing stuff for decorations, building tables / seatings, etc...

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? Yes, we need energy for a PA-system, decoration-lights and if it's possible also for a water-heater so that we can provide a safer way to self-service yourself to hot water during the night. If water boiler is not allowed we'll do it with gas.

    • Will there be light? Yes, we plan on decorating our tea tent with lights

    • Safety implications We have a wooden stove and gas heaters heating water. We will bring fire extinguishers and fire-blanket (from borderland last year).

    • What is your audio footprint? Ambient sound during daytime.
