Your happiness, our duty. The Clown Police.

Konrad Leffler

The Clown Police believe that the highest level of well-being is happiness. To achieve this, all basic needs (sleep/food,/shelter/safety) must first be met. For anyone who has lost track of those needs, the Clown Police commits to provide them with that.

Full description of concept

We come in peace with a clear mission: to ensure the safety, well-being the happiness of all borderlings.
We firmly believe that the treatment of fear and sadness is happiness and it is the duty of the clown police to spread joy to all borderlings no matter the time of day.
The clown police believe that the highest level of well-being is happiness. To achieve happiness all basic needs such as sleep, food and shelter must first be met. Any borderling who has lost track of these needs, we the clown police pledge it our duty to rescue and if deemed necessary bring to the happy jail for treatment. After all basic needs are met we spearhead our attention to our primary objective, to eradicate all fear and sadness across the Borderlands and replacing it by happiness and euphoria.

Team and plan

The team consists of a core team of clowns: the clumsy clown, the intense clown, the evil clown and the ginger clown. The time plan is to act when necessary during the whole week of Borderland.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

We will have a lot of helium balloons that will be tied to the ground. Each stationary ballooon will be registered so we can make sure that they are all taken down. Toys like frisbees need to be played with responsible so that they make it back to the clown store.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

We invite everyone to be part of the Clown Police, spreading safety, joy and fun at Borderland. For the spontaneous daytime parties all borderlings that need cheering up, hugs or a boost of fun are of course invited to join us.

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.

  • Do you need electricity from the grid? Yes, to charge different kind of equipment.

  • Will there be light? Of course. We will have illuminated balloons and other peripherals to bring light to the night.

  • Will anything burn? No.

  • What is your audio footprint? Camp: we hope to host some spontaneous daytime-parties+the placement we requested is far out and shouldn't create too much noise pollution // On-shift: some clowns will carry around a few portable speakers so as to force sad people partying.

  • Forces of nature Depending on the nature of the jail's structure, there might be a problem with strong winds and rain. Otherwise we really only need to cover speakers and other electronics (chargers, walkies etc).

  • Next random dream
