The Clay Slapping Field

Nina Lindberg and Petter Wallberg

Summary

We looove clay. In the Clay Slapping Field you get a big chunk of clay and the chance to build whatever you want to and then slap it back to nothingness again. Put your emotions into a big punch that lands in deliciously wet and earthy clay.

Full description of concept

Clay has this incredible earthiness that has the power to bring us from the mental to the physical. It can be taking an idea and building it in clay or just the sensation of clay in your hand.

In the Clay Slapping Field you get a big chunk of clay and the chance to build whatever you want to and then slap it back to nothingness again. Smack smack smack! This is a funny and wonderful chance to deal with something that you want to deal with. A feeling, an event in your life, a person or yourself. Make an image of it in clay and then just slap the hell out of it. It doesn't even have to be this, it can just be experiencing the circle of creation and destruction.

Come play with us! Find us in the Clay Slapping Field.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

It is only clay and props and we'll bring it all with us home.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

Come! You can help us with building props designating the Clay Slapping Field before Borderland. And you can participate during Borderland, spending time in the field guiding people and taking care of the clay (adding water and kneading it).

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
