An artistic event with the intended goal of challenging the meaning of concepts which usually stand for division, into a manifestation for self-expression and art.
A paintball gun, colorful ammunition and a wall. Have a blast and shoot your art!
It is quite straight forward. All we need is a paintball-gun, some colorful ammunition and a wooden wall. The idea is that everyone will be free to come by our camp and use these colorful paintball to create a work of art. We are currently discussing the possibility of framing some areas of the wall, thereby turning it into a potential picture which could be taken home.
We will utilize a standard issue paint-ball gun with no enhancing modifications. To the extent of our knowledge the law states that anyone under 18 can only shoot if there is an adult present.
In regards to the environment. We will use environmentally friendly paintball-balls, the scale is made by gelatin and the color is made out of sugar, which causes no harm to either humans or the environment. During favorable conditions (rain) the paint will disappear in 48 hours. Furthermore we will bring containers for potential waste and make sure that it disposed of in adherence to the 'leave no trace' policy. Just to make sure, we will also bring a tarpaulin to cover the area around the wall.
We are two people, who will reside in the pirate camp. Our names are Erik and Christian (multi-artist) and we strongly believe in the arts and cultures importance for contemporary politics. Our main inspiration is Pink Floyd's the wall.
Our event requires some flexibility, since participants might need adult supervision. Moreover, a paintball-gun is capable of causing injury to humans, we therefore will bring only one paintball gun to avoid any potential competitive shootouts.
We will transport the wooden wall back ourselves. Just to make sure, we will also bring a tarpaulin to cover the area around the wall. The bullets dissolve in water.
