A geodesic dome with surround sound speakers pointing inward and a projector projecting images onto the ceiling. Lots of pillows to cuddle with as you lay on the floor and watch a visual art installation that is synced with the music being played!
The Audiovisual LEGO/Chillout Dome is The Borderlands very own planetarium and 360 degree cinema!
The dome will be a 4.8m wide geodesic dome with a surround sound speaker system and a projector, enabling a wide range of audiovisual experiences such as 360 degree space documentaries, digital art displays, and music visualizations. But most of all the dome will be a place to come and chillout from the craziness of the outside world. Come inside and lay down in a soft pile of pillows and enjoy some soothing ambient music paired to some incredibly vivid geometric visualizations!
There are currently a few documentaries and music sets planned and a timetable will be posted on the outside of the dome. If you have some content you would like played or are a DJ/VJ that wants to do a set in the dome, please let us know! During the daytime when no sets are planned we will bring out a large amount of LEGO and transform the dome into a playful LEGO lounge! Come and play, create, and express your artistic side! During this time we will also let the community play their own music with an automatic visualizer hooked up. Just plug in your phone and enjoy!
Milkdrop Premade Mixes:
We will have a few premixed sets of music from various artists paired with the fantastic visualizer Milkdrop:
• Shpongle mix
• Carbon Based Lifeforms mix
• Ott mix
• Various Psychedelic Ambient mix
We have a few documentaries about space from actual planetariums planned in. These will range from 5 minutes up to 35 minutes. Some titles:
• “Journey Through Our Cosmic Dimensions”
• “From The Earth To The Universe”
• “The X-Planets: Discovering Other Earths”
Reclaiming our minds:
Timmy Forss’ visionary documentary series, now adapted for the full dome experience. It explores everything from human behavior to the monetary system, contemporary politics, to the war on drugs. It goes into depth, trying to analyze the world we live in and answer the one fundamental question of our age: “What in the world is going on?”.
Shared Virtual Reality Experiences:
Contemporary virtual reality devices are becoming increasingly sophisticated, but they lack one thing: sharing the experience with those around you. We have gathered a set of virtual worlds for you to explore as a shared experience with those in the dome together with you. As a sample here is a virtual world called Chrysalis, first premiered at Coachella 2017: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN7swvppiWE
Along with this we will have a number of other worlds available, created by various artists and visionaries.
Me and two friends so far!
We are currently a team of three people. We will buy the materials during the summer (probably June) and build it all together before disassembling it and bringing the pieces to The Borderland!
There won't be any moop.

Anyone is welcome to join us and co-create this dream! But most of all we are looking for these kinds of people:
• DJs and VJs that want to do a set in the dome.
• Anyone interested in hosting a workshop or any other type of event in the dome.
• People knowledgeable in sewing and fabrics that can help us with the cover of the dome and the inner projection surface.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
