The Costume Cubby

David Vannen

A cute little space with costumes to share with the community. Feeling cold? Come let us lend you a glamorous coat! Just arrived with no party clothes? Borrow ours! Want to find that perfect accessory for the evening? We're here to help.

Full description of concept

The Costume Cubby is an offshoot of Costume Camp, the dusty loving camp of Nowhere festival that has provided costumes to burners for many years. We operate in a similar way to the Pimp Stations that previous years have seen. We will accept costume donations, but we will be bringing a stock of incredible outfits to share with you. The Cubby will be a great place to come to for anyone looking for a change of clothes for the day. Tired of Tuesday's ensemble? stop by and get ready for a wild Wednesday. Feeling cold in the evening? come and find a layer or two. Just arrived and need a party outfit? We can help! Help us make this space extra nice with your grants for lighting and decor to really make the Cubby a beautiful destination.

Team and plan

We're a bunch of experienced burners and Costume Camp folk. We already have a structure and costume rails, and we'll be bringing our amazing selection of costumes with us to share with you.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

We're very MOOP conscious. Our space doesn't produce MOOP, but we will sweep it, and the area around it, daily.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

We would love to hear from people wanting a small space to hold costume and makeup themed events. It would be great to have people on board who love dressing folk up to get involved.

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.

  • Do you need electricity from the grid? Lighting in evenings and night. LED strips and some fairy lights, not a heavy power drain.

  • Will there be light? If we have access to electricity, we will be able to light our space with LED strips and fairy lights. Otherwise we will use solar lights.

  • Will anything burn? We don't plan to have fire.

  • What is your audio footprint? Our space won't be big enough for parties, but we may have a small soundsystem for impromptu fun.

  • Forces of nature Our tent structure is waterproof, and we will bring proper equipment to secure it.
