We wish to build a camera obscura, also known as a walking camera. The space will be a big army tent which will have a lens in the wall. Light emitted will create a mirror image of the outside with a distorted trippy atmosphere.
There will be a tent with a lens that projects a mirrored image of the outside world on the walls of the tent. Also, inside of the tent will be comfortable space to enjoy the chancing scenery and view. The camera obscura is an old and simple idea, but once the viewer can physically step into it, it turns into magic. Borderland is about this kind of lovely experiences, and about sharing them with others, and since the camera fits more than one person at the time, that can also happen here. The key for this project is the possibility to create the space - the viewers will do the rest.
Tatu Mäkinen and Anna-Leena Kankaanpää. We will arrive on Monday the latest and set up the space.
Rent of a tent, pillows and fabrics ~400e
Lenses to fit the wall: 100e
Come help us decorate the place or just enjoy the view.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
