The Shitopian dream is back with more toilets than EVER! Shitopia is the concept of making our toilet visits into magnificent, interesting, bizarre and fun experiences. Do YOU have experience in using a toilet and a slightly twisted mind? Join us today!
Shitopia aims towards having the 28 toilets and 5 pissoirs 'adopted' by different participants and transformed into art pieces and experiences. Our goal is to have people looking forward to the fresh, weird and uplifting toilet breaks! People might even sip some extra water so they can speed up the process and go again.. We also believe that giving the toilets some extra love will make everyone take care of them more during the festival.
How do we do this? It can be by claiming a porta pottie and giving it a theme (eg. transforming it into a fairytale forest and install some magical music), it could be putting out red carpets for the people queuing, to make signs, a diaper station, hosting poop workshops, put up information about the history of toilets or bring lights to help lonesome wanderers with filled blatters find their way in the dark...
Decorating a booth is (can be..) a defined project to take on and therefore an easy projekt for first timers that are unsure of what to do at the festival. You think this sounds like a great idea? Then we're a perfect match. Help us make it happen!
We're a group of lifelong experienced poopers and anyone that feel confident that they know their shit is welcome to join in!
We're currently a small group of people but will start doing shout outs for co-creators this week!
We'll try and keep the decorations as moop-free as possible. Every booth will be responsible for their own moop/trash but we'll make sure to have collective bags to sort the trash afterwards.
28 toilets deco&lights * 350 = 9800
5 pissoirs deco&lights * 200 = 1000
5 outside lit up signs/queueing areas á 500 = 2500
Washing stations á 560 * 4 = 2240
Tampons/pads/lotions/soap = 1000
Extension chord & batteries = 500
Transport & storage = 2500
Come up with ideas for different booths and make them happen! Join the group, share your ideas or ask if someone needs help. At the festival: keep the porta potties clean and beautiful when you use them!
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
