The Jambox is a place where you can live out your weirdest musical dreams.
Want to do a saw solo over a funky salsa death metal beat?
Want to perform a re-enactment of the 1995 finals of "småstjärnorna"?
Just find like-minded people and get going!
The Jambox will be a collaboration with kakophonium, there will be all manner of standard and very non-standard musical equipment and instruments.
At some point we would like to collaborate with other camps that have stages for live shows.
Anyone can join in on the jamming at any time, in the spirit of radical inclusion, and if anyone wants to create a workshop they are most welcome to do so, whether it be in percussion, guitar, piano, rhythmic displacement or anything else relating to music.
Jambox is also a camp, which welcomes both newbies and veterans. The camp will be located a bit away from the jambox, to avoid potentially being woken up at 8am by drunk drummers and groovy guitarists. There will be a meal plan and also a smaller, acoustic jamspace by the camp.
The main organizers as of now are Adam Nilsson and Darijan Jelica who set up the highly appreciated band room at Urban Burn Helsingborg,
And Daniel Hrynzcenco, who has brought the amazing Kakophonium to the Borderland in years past.
We have a facebook group with 24 members now, but we don't know how many of them will actually be part of the camp.
We're around 5-10 people who we know will contribute and that feels like enough to pull it off, any more people will be a welcome bonus.
As for time, we don't need that much time preparing, as it's mostly setup on site. Some of us will arrive as early as friday to start setting up.
Hopefully not so much moop in the actual jambox, we'll put up a small moop station there and a bigger one by the camp.
We will need to rent a PA system, things like drumsticks and other consumables, we also need lights, decorations, rugs and possibly a tent.
Join our facebook group and find out!
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
