Frustration room

  • Summary

Frustration room - a place to beat out your anger and frustration, wash off and meet the glitter world outside, with a pure mind.

    Full description of concept

Ever gotten tired of all the glitz and glam? All the smiles? HOW CAN EVERYONE BE SO DARN HAPPY?! THIS CAN'T BE REAL, you might think.
Now it is your chance to create your own, pure happiness!

Let us build us a frustration room!
Complete with a punching bag, stuff and things to tear and destroy, tomatoes to throw (smush 'em like it was your ennoying enemy's face!)
Punch, yell, sweat, destroy. Yell the stuff you want to yell at your boss, kick the frustration out of the system and meet those things you have pushed down inside. And then when you are done....
... wash your hands, your face, wash your frustration away.
Exit the frustration room and meet the glittery space world outside that is our Borderland, with a pure mind and revitalised happiness.

I'm thinking a wooden structure, perhaps 2x2x2.2 m. Walls should be punchable and a bit sound isolated. Outside, an opportunity to wash off.
Inside: punching bag, perhaps tomatoes or waterballoons, darts, perhaps a hammer/nails/board situation to further bang the anger away.

    About the group/Artist

From the KISS A STRANGER camp (2016), away from the loveydovey kissing games and towards the Frustration Room.
The creators of the Frustration room will be part of another camp, but you are all welcome to contact me and help us with it

    Team and plan

This will be a booth with open activity hours where a professional, coaching Provocateur will guide the participant through the Frustration Journey. Between open hours, the booth will be open for all to join (without a coach). The Frustration Room will be up and running all week.

    Budget overview

Material for building booth, a structure sturdy enough to hold a punching bag (and people punching it). Lights, material to destroy (i.e paper, wooden planks, hammers and nails etc.)

900 dkk material for outer structure - stem, decoration, signs, insulation (to make the walls inside punchable and a bit sound damping)
400 lights - inside and out
700 inside - pens, paper, darts, ballons, tomatoes, punching bag,

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

Please contact me with ideas and material contribution. Welcome to join us both before and during the planning and building of the booth.

    What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
