The Gangway will provide some sort of rather comfortable floating access to the swimming water across the slippery stones - some times dry - some times wet
At Bl2015 and BL2016 many co-creaturs DREAMT about a way to get into the Baltic Sea for swimming without stepping on the very slippery stones along the coast. This is a project to met these DREAMS :-)
The Gangway will provide some sort of rather comfortable floating access to the swimming water across the slippery stones - some times dry - some times wet, water depth will be aprox 60 cm.
The gangway will be floating and moving with the waves, and not expected to be dry at any time.
The gangway will be build in 6 sections, each 2,5 m long and 1,2 m wide
Sections near the beach will be supported, the rest will be floating, to be designed on locating…
The gangway will be anchoraged by some big ballast bags ( to be designed ) and hardly resist a heavy storm, and sorry about that
The gap between the sections will be 7 to 14 cm. The gap will be kept to a minimum with springs, but has to be flexible.
In the dark the seabed will be illuminated.
for now just the project manager
Team April6th : the project manager designing and calculating.
The wood for the six frames will be prepared at home before transport to Boesdal Friday 29th.
We need four co-creators who will arrive at the venue Friday July21st and dedicate themselves to build the units at the beach, and install it all in the Baltic Sea.
We need four co-creators to commit themselves to stay at Boesdal until everything is deconstructed and gone.
We have two different plans:
1) if we want to burn the decks at the Big Burn Saturday evening, we need four ppl to demolish the sections Saturday July29th, and continue demolishing Sunday and Monday until late, to bring most stuff to the recycling station in Store Heddinge.
2) If we want to keep the Gangway for a last dip Sunday morning, we need four ppl to commit themselves to stay until Monday 31st late to demolish the sections, and bring to the recycling station Monday ?
If the Gangway should be torn into piece by a storm, we need to improvize
The deck built by natural tree might be burned at the Big Burn, otherwise brought away.
The frame tree build by impregnated tree will be brought away.
All steel bolts and other units will be brought away.
All stuff for the ballast bags will be brought to the recycling station in Store Heddinge
Wood, brackets, tools : DKK.13.200,00
Illumination : DKK, 1.000,00
Transport: DKK. 1.500,00
As above : wee need co-creators to assembly and build July 21st to 23rd and to demolish 29th to 31st.
Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.
