  • Summary

Have you ever experienced the wonderful feeling of being hatched in a sturdy and at the same time fluffy nest? Our Dream is to build a huge bird nest for people to relax, cuddle, chill or hatch!

    Full description of concept

One flew over the cuckoon’s nest, but those who flew to the Fluffy Parrots' nest stayed and became part of the family. Those parrots - colorful, or not colorful, fluffy, or not fluffy, big or small - built a cuddly, safe and inviting nest. It was the whispers of the ether that spiritually guided these parrots to settle in the land without borders since they felt truly that they have arrived home. Fluffy Parrots invite everyone to join in our nest to hatch.

As we are humans, we never really got to experience the wonderful feeling of being hatched in a sturdy and at the same time fluffy nest. We are very very sad about this! Our Dream is to build a huge bird nest for people to relax, cuddle, chill or be surrounded by warm fluffy feathers to make them feel at home.

To make this reality we need to find a lot of wood, branches, straw and hay - materials that can be burnt in the Burn - and cuddle it up with blankets, pillows, colors and love.

The Nest is where the hatching happens, but as parrots are very social and active birdies, they will also invite all curious borderlings to join their Morning Bar & Disco, play in the cozy Gamerary, enjoy their bodies in multiple ways during Liquid Love, Massages and Akroyoga – It is crucial to have decent flying skills before leaving the safe nest. Since these parrots are urbanized, they will be practicing in a tent if raining and make sure surroundings are covered with matts to make the first flying attempts safe. Our wish is to set up a big communal tent for all the darlings to enjoy the above activities.

Moop plan (matter out of place)

We will constantly collect moop with huge plastic bags. Hopefully we can make those visible during the dark as well. We will also facilitate moop sweeps during the week, at least twice plus the end sweeping on Sunday. To transfer the matter out, we have a van with enough space.

How can other borderlings cocreate with you?

We need help in building and also brainstorming more ideas around the nest. We are especially open for virgins! We use Borderland's Slack channel for planning, feel free to join us at #fluffy-parrots. As we will have a moderate sound system, we invite people to come and play - playing in various ways!

    What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Borderland is a participatory festival that takes place in Boesdal, Denmark. It's a fully participatory event where everything is created by the participants themselves, with out any spectators.

      Details

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? Yes. Around 16 A would be ideal.

    • Will there be light? Some LED lamps that require power from the grid.

    • Will anything burn? Yes. We would like to burn The Nest. We will build it in a way that it can be carried to the final burning place.

    • What is your audio footprint? Moderate. We are planning to host morningish wake-up parties with easy-going deep house/tech house/electronic. In addition, we would like to play some music throughout the day and the early night time before silent time.

    • Forces of nature We will be prepared for heavy rains and especially heavy winds. We will use weights and chucks/bolts to tie things to the ground. Learnt this the hard way.
